AMERICAN FEDERATION OF POLICE & CONCERNED  CITIZENS: Since  1960, AFP&CC has served over 8,000,000 Americans with tips on self  protection, home security, vehicle safety, rape prevention and more while  continuing to assist family survivors (See below). These programs are supported  through the generosity of over 130,000 donors and members nationwide. Also, AFP&CC publishes the Police Times Magazine and Police Family Survivor Fund Quarterly Newsletter. The American Federation of Police and Concerned Citizens (AFP&CC) was incorporated in 1978 to serve the rank and file police officer. Over the years, the vision for AFP&CC has grown to include crime prevention,  public safety and police family survivor programs. As the program focus has grown, so has support from the public. Through the generous support of our donors, AFP&CC has also been instrumental in the support of the American Police Hall of Fame and Museum. APHF has received direct financial support from  AFP&CC, as well as a prominent place in Police Times Magazine and the AFP&CC Newsletter. The Museum will bolster the public’s awareness of law  enforcement and crime prevention. Financial Information AFP&CC PROGRAMS: Family Survivor Scholarships -  College Scholarships ($1500 a year for four years) are provided to the children of an officer killed in the line of duty. Family Survivor Gift Program - Birthday, Christmas, Father’s and Mother’s Day presents are sent to the family of officers killed in  the line of duty to show that their family member’s sacrifice has not been  forgotten. Summer Camp Scholarships- $200 is provided to the school aged children of officer’s killed in the line of duty so that they may attend summer camp. Emergency Assistance - $2,000 is sent to the immediate  family of an officer who just lost their life in the line of duty. The money is used for grief counseling and expenses that normally occur from the death of a loved one. Also sent with the check is a Posthumous Medal of Honor, Certificate, Memorial Flag, and letter to the department. AMERICAN POLICE HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM 6350 Horizon Dr. • Titusville, FL 32780 • 321-264-0911 The  APHF (founded in 1960) is the nation's first national police museum and memorial  dedicated to American law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. The Museum, through interactive displays, simulators and nearly 11,000 artifacts,  educates the public about the history and current trends of American law enforcement. Featured at the Museum is a state-of-the-art 24 lane indoor gun range and is open to the public six days a week. Helicopter rides are also  offered at the Museum. The Memorial lists over 7,000 officers who were killed in the line of duty. Their names are permanently etched on the Memorial’s marble walls, which are added to once a year for Police Memorial Day. On Police Memorial Day (May 15th) the Memorial hosts hundreds of police officers, family  survivors and dignitaries. The event is a somber reminder that every 57 hours, a police officer is killed in the line of duty somewhere in America. The Police  Museum houses two 501(c)(3) Nonprofit American law enforcement associations, The National Association of Chiefs of Police (NACOP) and the American Federation of Police and Concerned Citizens (AFP&CC). These associations strive to meet  the ever growing needs of the American law enforcement community through a  variety of programs and services. NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CHIEFS OF POLICE: Founded in 1967, NACOP promotes and supports the law enforcement profession through a variety of programs and services. NACOP encourages leadership of command law enforcement and private security within the United States and her territories. NACOP encourages a free exchange of information  between men and women presently engaged in law enforcement, reserves, security, etc., through publications, meetings, regional training, research endeavors,  films and study courses. It also creates the opportunity to recognize and  encourage citizens and law enforcement officers for their community deeds of  bravery and valor through the medium of an awards program. Financial Information NACOP Programs: K9 Placement- NACOP provides a matching grant up to $5000 to under-funded police departments who wish to form a K9 team. PDPOF Scholarships- NACOP provides rehabilitative  scholarships ($500 per year for 4 years) for disabled officers to assist them in regaining productive lives through either college, vocational school or for  medical expenses incurred by their injuries. PDPOF Gift Program - Birthday and Christmas presents are  sent to the officer and his or her family to show their sacrifice has not been  forgotten by the law enforcement community. SHARED PROGRAMS: NACOP  and AFP&CC share the expenses for the Police Museum and Police Memorial Day  which include the Memorial Service, Flowers and travel & lodging expenses for the family survivors who wish to attend the service.
